Strengths

My strengths :

1. Beliefs

2. Includer

3. Woo

4. Positivity

5. Empathy

To be honest, I think these strengths are pretty spot on with how I try to aim my life. I have felt the same way about my strengths since I saw them and I have been thinking a lot about them this past week. I think my number one (belief) is so true. I try to base my life around my faith and my beliefs so when I saw that was my number one it made me excited! I think I identify most with Empathy because I love being empathetic towards people and listening to their problems. I try my best to give good advice and be Positive which is my 4th strength. I don’t necessarily think I am always positive because I do have my low times. But, in my low times, I do try to look at what good can come out of it. I am not really sure I understand what Woo really means. I read the description and I do think it reflects me in a way… I would definitely like to look into that one a little bit more. I will use my Includer strength throughout this semester to really help me gain relationships with all the people in this program.

Handling Stress

I’ve realized that a really good thing to do when I’m stressed is to breathe it out. Not only does it help calm down the body, but it also slows my mind. Deep breathing for five minutes by myself always helps me. Another thing I do is journal. I like writing down all my feelings so that I can get them out on paper and not really have to stress over them anymore. As far as places I like to go when I’m stressed, I would say of course my room. A bedroom should be a safe space where everything is okay considering it is where I lay my head at night to sleep and trust that nothing is going to happen to me. Another place is literally anywhere. I pop some headphone’s in and I’m ready to start relaxing and stop stressing. As long as you have a killer playlist, I think you pretty much have everything you need.

Picture

I took this picture very early on.. maybe a week in, and look how close we all are with each other already! I love this picture because it teaches me that even though it is hard to be away from home, it is easy to make friends if you just put yourself out there. I feel really lucky to have such a strong group of people to be living in Rome with. This makes me excited for the future because i know not only that i will have all these friends but also that i will be able to make an abundance of friends at Charleston as well.

Rome Bucket list

I want to go to the Villa Borghese because I heart it was a really pretty garden and a pond. Hopefully i will go this Saturday.

Next, i would like to take a pasta making class. Im not very good at cooking so i would like to get better!

I want to get the best gelato in the city and post a picture of it on my instagram!!!

I really want to swim in the Trevi fountain, although i do know that it is impossible and very illegal. It just seems like it would feel amazing!

I want to meet the pope. this is another impossible thing. but, i think it would be so cool to meet the pope!

I want to buy a fedora. Im not sure why, but I am sure it would look very slick!

I want to go balsamic tasting… Balsamic is one of my favorite things and I want to try all of them!

I want to go to a restaurant and try all of their pastas in one sitting. This is probably a very expensive wish but i love pasta so it’s worth it!!

I want to go to Saint Peter’s Square because there are really good picture places there and I haven’t used my new camera yet so I want to check it out!

Lastly, I do want to do the full Colosseum tour. I want to go with all of my friends and roommates and take some pictures.

My name is Abby Andrews, I am from Nashville, TN.. I love the country and landscapes in Nashville. I am not a big fan of big buildings or exuberant skylines. I am a Christian and try to live out my life the best way possible while making other people feel comfortable and happy. I grew up in the church with my parents and my sisters, I really don’t know anything but that. I went to a Christian high school which really influenced my faith. I am grateful everyday for that… I played lacrosse since 6th grade which has made a big impact on my life. Lacrosse is the reason I love sports and why I am more of the tomboy type. I am not very girly at all, I have a lot more guy friends than I do girl friends. I love traveling and have been traveling since I was very young. I grew up in a family where opportunities were endless, lucky you could say. Hopefully for my future I get to travel all around the world and learn new cultures and explore new places.

This is an example post, originally published as part of Blogging University. Enroll in one of our ten programs, and start your blog right.

You’re going to publish a post today. Don’t worry about how your blog looks. Don’t worry if you haven’t given it a name yet, or you’re feeling overwhelmed. Just click the “New Post” button, and tell us why you’re here.

Why do this?

  • Because it gives new readers context. What are you about? Why should they read your blog?
  • Because it will help you focus you own ideas about your blog and what you’d like to do with it.

The post can be short or long, a personal intro to your life or a bloggy mission statement, a manifesto for the future or a simple outline of your the types of things you hope to publish.

To help you get started, here are a few questions:

  • Why are you blogging publicly, rather than keeping a personal journal?
  • What topics do you think you’ll write about?
  • Who would you love to connect with via your blog?
  • If you blog successfully throughout the next year, what would you hope to have accomplished?

You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.

Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.

When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
